HealthCare Minds provides a range of CPR training, all courses are delivered by Accredited Instructors, you will receive a certificate which is internationally recognised and valid for 2 year on successful completion.
Below is a fuller description of the various courses available which can be delivered in your workplace or at a venue near you.

Aim of the Course.

Participants will learn how to deal with four life threatening emergencies – cardiac arrest, stroke, heart attack and choking. The CFR Community Course includes the Heartsaver CPR AED Course (for lay persons) or the BLS for Healthcare Provider Course (for healthcare professionals) plus additional modules (see below).

The Course is suitable for:

People wishing to become Cardiac First Responders (community level) who may be part of emergency medical services, healthcare practitioners, healthcare assistants, community, sports and youth group leaders, members of public or first aiders.

Course Programme:

• Heartsaver AED or BLS for Healthcare Provider Course plus the following modules:

• Patient assessment

• Recovery position

• Heart attack and administration of aspirin

• Stroke assessment (FAST Assessment)

• Critical incident stress awareness and debrief

• Cardiac First Responder Report (CFRR)

• Legal indemnity issues

Methodology:

Classroom video based, instructor led, with hands on practice on manikins. Focus on practical skills and student participation, using practice-while-watching technique.

Assessment

Skills testing (plus written exam (MCQ) for those completing the BLS for Healthcare Providers course)

Certification

Irish Heart Foundation / Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) CFR Community course completion card, and an Irish Heart Foundation/American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED course completion card, or a BLS for HCP certificate depending on the type of course.

Duration of Course:

Approximately 6 hours

Aim of the Course:

Participants will be able to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies such as sudden cardiac arrest in a safe, timely and effective manner.

The Course is suitable for:

Medical, para-medical and allied healthcare professionals

Course Programme:

• Adult, paediatric and infant CPR

• Bag-valve mask ventilation, mouth-to-mouth, mouth-to-barrier ventilation

• Two-rescuer team scenarios

• Foreign-body airway obstruction

• Automated external defibrillation

• Special resuscitation situations

Methodology:

Classroom video based, instructor led, with hands on practice on manikins. Focus on practical skills, and student participation, using practice-while-watching technique.

Assessment

Skills testing and a written evaluation (Multiple choice questions)

Certification

Participants will receive an Irish Heart Foundation (IHF)/ American Heart Association certificate completion card upon successful completion of the course. Valid for 2 years (recognised internationally)

Duration of Course:

Approximately 5.5 hours

Aim of the Course.

The aim of the course is to equip the participant with the relevant knowledge and skills to deliver a range of life saving techniques in an emergency situation. Participants will learn basic techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the relief of choking for adults, children and infants.

The Course is suitable for:

For anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet regulatory or other requirements, for example healthcare assistants.

Course Programme:

• Adult CPR

• Mouth-to-mouth, mouth-to-barrier/mask ventilation

• Foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious)

• Automated external defibrillation

• Special resuscitation situations

• Child CPR, AED use and choking (optional modules)

• Infant CPR and choking (optional modules)

Classroom video based, instructor led, with hands on practice on manikins. Focus on practical skills, and student participation, using practice-while-watching technique.

Assessment

Evaluation through skills testing

Certification

Irish Heart Foundation / American Heart Association course completion card upon successfully completing the course, valid for 2 years and internationally recognised.

Duration of Course:

Approximately 4.5 hours.

Aim of the Course.

Participants will learn life-saving skills to increase the chance of survival for victims of life threatening emergencies, and understand the importance of their role in the Chain of Survival.

The Course is suitable for:

Anyone interested in learning the basic skills in CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. This course is ideal for schools, students, youth groups, new parents and grandparents/family members. THe course can be organised for small groups and can even be run in family homes

Course Programme:

• Adult Hands – Only CPR

• Child CPR with breaths

• Automated external defibrillation (AED) – adult & child

• Relief of choking in adult, child, Infant

Methodology:

Video based, instructor led, with hands on practice on manikins. Focuses very heavily on practical skills, and student participation.

Assessment

There is no assessment, students will learn through practice

Certification

A certificate of attendance will be given to course participants

Duration of Course:

Approximately 1.5-2 hours

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.
You will be practising skills that require kneeling, bending, standing and lifting. Tracksuit bottoms and runners or other flat comfortable shoes are ideal.

If you have any physical conditions that might prevent you from practising skills, please tell the instructor or email us in advance to discuss your specific needs. The Instructor may be able to adjust the equipment to accommodate you. Also please tell the Instructor if you are allergic to latex. If you have an infection such as Flu please contact us in advance.

Please plan to be on time because it will be hard for late students to catch up once we start.
